Hello! My name is Grace Carlisle, and I am the artist behind gracefullyoriginal!

My work is primarily inspired by nature; whether that be a mountainside, the ocean, or a field of flowers. I believe that the world is beautiful, and I try my best to capture that incredible beauty in my paintings.

In addition to being an artist, I am also a student at the University of Florida studying English. I am as passionate about reading and writing as I am about art, and I hope to become a teacher one day. I find it hard to pick favorite books, because I have fallen in love with so many stories. However, for autumn, I would definitely recommend anything written by Agatha Christie. She is my favorite mystery author, and her books are great to curl up with on a chilly day.

If I am not painting or studying, it is highly likely that I am hanging out with one of my animal friends! We have A LOT of animal friends: fifteen chickens, two puppy-dogs, a bunny, a cat, and a little calf.

This is one of our chickens: Stormy. She is the most photogenic of the bunch.

Not sure if the captions will show, but these are my puppies! The one on the left is Stitch, and the Bassett Hound is Pudge 🙂

This is Poppy the Belted Galloway calf! We got her in September and she quickly became one of my best friends 🙂
This is Sprite aka Bun Bun aka the love of my life. He enjoys cilantro, apples, and wreaking havoc upon my bedroom.
This is Coal! He is also a rescue in that we rescued him from outside. Now he only accepts certain flavors of wet food and yells a lot when he does not get enough attention. He is the absolute best cat in the world though and I love him very much.

My art is only a part of my story. Although I am still trying to figure everything out, I hope to share a part of my journey with you through this website!
